Bellefaire JCB Jewish Big Brother Big Sister Association

The Jewish Big Brother Big Sister Association of Cleveland (JBBBSA) is a non-profit agency that provides professionally supported mentoring services and programs to local children and their families.

Alexa Lipp, Director

Our clients are children who are Jewish and between the ages of 6 and 18. Children are enrolled in our program for all sorts of reasons: many come from single-parent households; have unresolved issues resulting from a large family change; or are working to learn how to build better friendships with their peers. Any Jewish child that can benefit from a mentor in their lives qualifies for the service, whatever the reason.

We match Jewish children ages 6-18 with Bigs 21 years of age or older.  To be a Big, you may have no more than 4 points on your driver’s license, have no criminal record, and must commit to a minimum of a year’s match. All Bigs undergo a thorough screening process including a fingerprinting, background check, and driver’s license check. Although we provide mentoring to Jewish children and their families, our Big Brothers and Sisters do not need to be of the Jewish faith.

Big and Little matches enjoy two monthly outings together, as well as seasonal group outings arranged by the agency. All matches are supported by an LISW level case manager on a monthly basis.

We are in need of volunteers who are at least 21 years of age who can serve as a positive mentor/role model in a child’s life.

Program is free for participants.
