The Friends of the Israel Defense Force initiates and helps support social, educational, cultural and recreational programs and facilities for the young men and women soldiers of Israel who defend the Jewish homeland.

Since its founding in 1995, the Ohio Chapter has sponsored millions of dollars for the wellbeing of Israel’s soldiers and their families, and in 2024 has focused heavily on PTSD and supporting families of fallen soldiers with Bereavement programs.

In addition, the Ohio Chapter has underwritten clubs, mobile gyms, and synagogues all over Israel. We have provided wide range of support and care for IDF soldiers, their families, widows and orphans such as:

  • Recreational and exercise facilities
  • Mobile synagogues
  • Scholarships
  • Financial aid
  • Summer camps
  • Holiday gifts
