Cleveland Jewish News

The Cleveland Jewish News was formed in 1964 as an independent successor of two privately owned Jewish newspapers in Cleveland: The Jewish Review & Observer and the Jewish Independent. The CJN remains the best way to learn about people, activities, lifecycle events and Jewish institutions and organizations. It also provides thoughtful analysis and perspective on what is happening locally, in Israel, and around the world. The Cleveland Jewish Publication Company publishes:

· Jstyle Weddings, an annual publication featuring local profiles of recently married couples and helping to-be-wed couples (and their parents) plan for the big day.

· SOURCE: An Annual Guide to Jewish Living in Northeast Ohio, a directory with comprehensive, useful listings to help readers connect with organizations, agencies and businesses.

· Bar-Bat Mitzvah, an annual magazine focused on making the occasion meaningful and festive.

· Celebrations, an annual magazine to help Clevelanders plan all types of parties, including weddings and b’nai mitzvah.

· Canvas, which spotlights Northeast Ohio’s strong and growing arts and entertainment community.

· Cleveland Kesher, a magazine focused on the Cleveland Orthodox community.

CJN publications have an average print distribution of 5,000 copies and reach more than 45,000 readers in Greater Cleveland. In addition to paid home delivery, the paper is available in libraries and institutions, and single copies are sold at more than 30 local newsstands. The CJN also produces a digital edition of the paper, which can be viewed on any internet connected device and is available on Thursday, a day earlier than the print subscription. The Cleveland Jewish News free mobile app is available from the App Store and Google Play.

CJPC Custom Publishing partners with local and worldwide businesses and organizations to meet communications and partner needs, producing community publications for Beachwood (Beachwood Buzz), South Euclid (South Euclid Thrive), Lyndhurst (Lyndhurst Life) and University Heights (University Heights Mosaic). The company also produces tribute books and other custom publications for a variety of clients including Temple Emanu El, Park Synagogue, Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, The Mandel JCC, Cleveland Pops Orchestra, The City Club of Cleveland and many more.

In January, 2027, the Cleveland Jewish Publication Company will begin publishing Beachwood Buzz magazine, a wholly-owned and acquired monthly lifestyle and city magazine serving Beachwood’s 9,000 homes and businesses.

CJPC Consulting offers its customized services to Jewish media outlets around the country. The company currently provides ongoing consultation and services to clients including Jewish News of Greater Phoenix, Pittsburgh Jewish Chronicle and Toledo Jewish News.

CJPC Events division produces myriad community events throughout Northeast and Central Ohio. Signature events include CJN 18 Difference Makers, CJN 12 Under 36: Members of the Tribe, “An Evening With…” speaker series, Jstyle launch parties, Mahj events, CJN Sports Talk Live, CJN-Les Levine High School Player of the Week awards reception and an annual pickleball tournament.

In 2023, the CJN began producing “Aliza: Her Story at 10 Years” a multi-episode podcast series about the story of Aliza Sherman, a 53-year-old in-vitro fertilization nurse and Beachwood mother who was murdered in downtown Cleveland in 2013. To better support its production capabilities, in 2026 the CJPC constructed a state-of-the-art podcast production studio for future content and revenue opportunities in this space.
